Gus didn't have a normal childhood. His father left when he was very young and Gus was suddenly put in charge of his house. He dropped out of school in middle school and worked a handful of both legal and illegal jobs to keep his mother and brother going. He spent his life trying to protect them which meant that he had no fucking clue what Animal House was.
