Arrival

It's an abrupt return to consciousness – although it's strange, he doesn't remember falling asleep in the first place, or hitting his head – and the cold stone beneath him definitely isn't right. It takes him a moment to realize that there's a voice speaking, though at first he can't make sense of what it's telling him. Devotion? What has whoever this is done to earn his devotion?

He sits up slowly, expecting a headache that blessedly never comes. This is a completely unfamiliar place, and the most that he can make of it right now is that he's definitely not in Sokovia anymore. He'd give anything to see someone he knows here, but especially Wanda. She's been so close nearby for his entire life, and not to have her here now feels like part of him is missing.

Although at the moment, he's glad she's not seeing him like this. They're not children anymore, sharing a bath. At least there's something nearby. He can attempt to do something with it, although he has no idea how to wear or fasten a toga, so he'll just end up wrapping it around his waist and pinning it there.

He speaks to no one in particular, and anyone within earshot at the same time, an Eastern European hint to his words. "He kidnaps us and he expects our devotion?"

Monsoon season

He'd just been out for a walk, discovering the boundaries of his new home, when he found himself in need of an umbrella. Not that an umbrella would actually do much good in this deluge. He hurries into the nearest doorway – it doesn't escape his attention that it might be faster than the average human could have done it, but he's not nearly as fast as he's used to being – and removes his shirt to attempt to wring the water out of it. Not that that does much good either, as wet as it is.

It's not until he's put his shirt back on that he realizes he's not alone in the doorway. Well. At least he hadn't tried to wring out his pants.

"Does it always rain like this? Five minutes ago there wasn't a cloud in the sky."
