Caspian | The Chronicles of Narnia

[Arrival]

The full weight of what was happening only began to sink in when Caspian looked into the mirror and saw the collar around his neck. Waking in the temple had been strange (even stranger that he had been without clothes), but given all he had seen before on the Dawn Treader, it was more surreal than alarming. Part of him had wondered if he were in some sort of dream, a strange remnant of the magic he had experienced and seen.

The collar and his appearance were completely different. He was older, taller and more muscular than before. His face, while not overtly changed, had a few more years written across its expression. It was magic, it was all magic, but cast by whom?

Wrapping himself in the clothing provided, Caspian hastily tore from the room, scanning the area for signs of enemies and a weapon he might use to arm himself. People passed, pilgrims or attendants to the temple, but unfamiliar to him, just as they didn't seem to realize who he was.

Once outside, certain that no guard followed after him, intent on dragging him into a cell, Caspian glanced around to get his bearings. He was at least by the sea.

"What is this place?" He asked the first person that neared him, his heavier than he was used to. "What island is this?"

[Toga Party]

It would take a bit of getting used to, this idea that he was in another world. For all of his desire to see the realms beyond Narnia, he didn't think it would happen so suddenly or without warning. Perhaps he should have spoken a bit more to Edmund and Lucy about their experiences, but the idea had always been more appealing than what reality actually was.

The beach was at least reassuring. He stared across the ocean with a longing expression, turned away from the raucous of the party. He had been to several feasts in Narnia, this was...well not exactly the same, but similar. The wine was sweet enough that he had at least two glasses, allowing a warm feeling to race through him.

This world was beautiful at least, a thought that appeared in his head as someone joined his side. His smile was fond, even if the person was a stranger. "What do you think is beyond that ocean?"
