She didn’t reject the hand on her back this time, Kate simply grateful for the peace that appeared to settle between the brothers. She wasn’t about to be the one to raise tensions again and it wasn’t that she minded his doing so. She just didn’t want to rely on his always protecting her the way that she had in the past. Didn't want him to keep seeing her as somebody who needed it.

She blinked rapidly, trying to pull the room into focus as she stalled just inside the door where Richie stood. She was now able to see that every inch of the floors and walls were covered in a mosaic of tiles, in various shades of blue. Elaborate gold borders, glitter as the sun peaks in through a window, creating an all too breathtaking sight now that Kate can fully appreciate it.
She could hear the sound of people talking, she thought, echoing in a room beyond the one they were in. Her gaze shifted from Richie to Seth, a silent ‘Should we?’ hanging in the air but rather than wait for one of them to lead the way, it’s Kate who started towards what would soon turn out to be, the Pathema Unisex Bath.
