"I'm a little off my game," she countered in a dry tone, but there was nothing but amusement in her eyes. "Sue me. Maybe we can turn over a new leaf here and just ignore everyone?"

They both knew that wasn't exactly possible in this type of situation - been there, done that - but that didn't stop her from laughing out loud at the thought. She couldn't lie though, a part of it was appealing.
