"I am most definitely Magnus Bane, High Warlock of Brooklyn. And either you are my boyfriend, or you look exactly like my boyfriend." Either way, he wasn't going to be threatened to the point of leaving Alec behind when they were somewhere unfamiliar and quite probably dangerous considering Magnus lack of power and Alec's lack of weapons. At least the latter was currently benefiting Magnus. "Both make you my responsibility."
Sighing, the flames shifted as he pushed to the disappointingly limited edge of his magic to conjure up a cup of tea for Alec. Pressing it into his hand, he grabbed his arm to pull him out of the hallway to find a place they could talk. It scared him to his core to think something had happened to Alec, enchanting him to forget Magnus—but he hadn't forgotten, just didn't recognize him, which was worse in so many ways. There was also the fact that he mentioned Magnus teaching him to fight, which wasn't beyond the realm of possibility but also wasn't true. "I'm not better than him, Alec. I am him."
