Test Drive #3

ARRIVAL: Your character wakes up in a temple completely naked except for the collar around their neck. Near the spot they wake up is a pile of clothing that is NOT what your character was wearing before they woke up. When they unfold the clothing they will find it's a toga and that there's a pair of sandals under it. Too bad, that's all there is.

The sound of bells soon fills the temple, drowning out the noise of chatter and panic, drawing your attention to the statue in the center of the temple before a loud, booming voice fills your head:

Welcome, Honored Guests. I trust you’ve found everything easily enough. You may consider your Toga a token of my generosity and I trust the footwear will be more than sufficient;

Now I’m certain that you all have many questions, so perhaps you’ll permit me to explain.

I, Eros, Son of Ares and Aphrodite, God of Love and Sexual Desire, have brought you to Pathema for a very simple purpose. I offer you sanctuary from the trials and tribulations of your all too dreary existences and in return, I ask only one thing of you.

Your devotion.

I have seen how reluctant you creatures can be when it comes to matters of the flesh, and so I have ensured that all of you shall have the proper encouragement.

Surely you must be aware by now that each of you have been fitted with a collar. I wouldn’t try and remove them if I were you. Your petty magics, or force, will do little more than cause them to tighten I’m afraid.

Over a period of fourteen days, your collars will tighten. I’m told it’s a terribly uncomfortable experience and I wouldn’t suggest you push your limits but you mortals are rather a stubborn lot. Still, never let it be said that I didn’t try to warn you.

Now if at the end of those fourteen days, you have still refused to show your devotion to your God? You will simply cease to exist.

Oh, come now. I am not a cruel and capricious God. You’ll be permitted to return to your previous state of existence, for the mere price of something that you hold dear. A memory of those trivial times from before you were brought to your new home

Ah, yes. I do believe I have your attention now, don’t I?

But of course, how can you, mere peasants, show your God how much you adore him? I should think the answer is very simple, don’t you? I am the God of Sexual Desire after all.

SUMMER SOLSTICE: At night, bondfires are lit on the beach, and tables of food from your world are displayed alongside food from foreign places. Music is played all night long, and dancers pull strangers to join them, while the fire breathers put on a show for all to see. At midnight, fireworks light up the night skies before the party rages on until the sun comes up.

Blankets are available all over the beach, some giving more privacy than others...

MONSOON SEASON: It's raining season on the island, but like anything else here, this is no regular rain...

One moment the sky is blue and the sun warm, and one second later, dark grey clouds spill their content on the island residents. Sometimes it comes down as a light mist, and other times in such a manner that anyone running underneath is from head to toe in seconds. Sometimes, thunder rages on, and hail comes down from the sky instead of rain.

Spaces to hide oneself are sparse, and you may have to share your protected corner with someone else...

NETWORK: Everyone is provided with a communication device that gives them access to an island-wide network. These can be used for so many things! Send pictures of the drunk guy at the bar, your boobs or whatever you want!!

WILDCARD: There are forests, mountains, marketplaces, all sorts of places to go and explore on the island. Ideas for settings can be found on the locations pages!

**TDM threads can be used as your sample in your application! It can also be considered in game canon if it is agreed on by all characters involved in said threads.

Gus was familiar with a shit storm of a life but it was nothing like the mess he found himself in now. This wasn't the first place he's been dragged too but it was the first place where he's been bare ass naked. He knew he shouldn't take it out of this girl, she was trying to help him, and his mama would be disgusted with anything less than gentlemanly behavior.

"Gus" He replied, exhaling a slow breath. "There clothes at my house?" He was familiar with the idea of someone taking you to a new world and giving you a house.

Like that fucking makes it okay.

Gus ran his hand over the crest of his head, forcing himself to relax. His body was marked with a lot of tattoo's which didn't explain why his collar was in the shape of a rosary.

"Yeah." Clarke said. "I know it sounds strange but you have a house here with clothes. But before you get excited there is no electricity or running water." This place was so primitive in so many ways. But Clarke was used to that, the Earth had been like that too when she'd arrived. Grounders didn't have the tech that skaikru had.

"I changed as soon as I found my house." She added. "Someone helped me." She said, smiling a bit as she remembered how nice the other girl had been when she'd first arrived.

"They're not far from here, and then if you want I can show you around a bit." Clarke said, leaving it up to him. She was a bit curious about his tattoos but of course she had seen them before on people. Lexa had a tattoo. She still missed her so much, she pushed that thought aside and started walking in the direction of the houses, it'd be up to Gus if he wanted to follow her or not.

"Wouldn't be the first time." Gus grumbled a bit. "Any wiring or is it just shit made of stone." He realized that he should stop swearing around Clarke but he was too pissed off to curb his language. He heard his mama's disapproving voice in his head and groaned.

"Yeah. Let's go there." He lifted the phone he woke up with. "I take it the place is on here?" He quickly read her the street and address number. It didn't look like it was too far, at least he'd be able to wear paints soon.

Fuck this toga.

"Thanks. Look, sorry for yelling." He hadn't yelled at her but his voice was definitely raised. "This is the second time I've been brought to a fucking different place." Not that his home is much better.

"It's pretty primitive." Clarke said. That wasn't new to her, really. It reminded her a lot of the grounders back on Earth. But they didn't exactly have houses like these either. It was a strange mix.

"Yeah, that's not far at all." She laughed when he apologized for yelling. "It's okay, I was new too. I know what it's like to just wake up confused and angry." She nodded. "I thought it was a dream for some time."

Sometimes she still did. "So you've been kidnapped by a god before then?"

Gus was used to having to make things work. They didn't have money for repairs and it taught him a lot about wiring, electricity and ingenuity. Hopefully he can find something useful to do here. Gus worked well when he had shit to distract himself with.

"My dreams aren't this creative." They're also usually nightmares. Though he wasn't going to go into that with someone that he just met.

"Not a god. Don't know by who but I ended up in another world. No sex or collars." He wasn't sure which was worst.

This wasn't Clarke's first kidnapping either. But this one had brought her much further than the others. No one here even cared that she was Wanheda. She was not a pawn here to be used for strategy. She, like everyone else on the island, was here for the pleasure of Eros. And she hated it. She imagined that Gus wouldn't be too fond of it either.

"I come from Earth." She told him. "But I was born in space, on the Ark." She looked around to see if anyone else had noticed them. Maybe she was paranoid, but she had survived this long and wasn't about to let her guard down now.

"It's different there...the future for most people, probably. The Earth as you might have known it was destroyed by radiation over a century ago." She added, as she led him towards the houses. "You'll find something better to wear in your house...I mean unless you like the toga." She said, trying to joke and keep things light. There was nothing about this situation that was light, though.

Gus's world wasn't exactly like others either. It was destroyed as far as Gus knew. He didn't have anyone left and there was no more sun. There was nothing stopping those bloodsuckers now.

"My Earth isn't like that but it isn't all that great either." His eyebrow rose and he turned to look at her. "Born in space? Can't imagine what that's like."

Gus snorted at her attempt. "Yeah. It's fun going commando." So much sarcasm. "We close?" He'd really like some real clothes.

"We were literally on the brink of extinction," Clarke said. "I stayed behind so some of my people could make it back to space." This wasn't an easy thing to talk about, but she felt like Gus might be able to understand. He came from a pretty messed up world too, it sounded like.

"I thought I was dead when I woke up here. I remember feeling the radiation, choking on my blood. And then it all went dark and I was here." And there wasn't a sign of radiation on her. The nightblood had worked, it had just taken it's time.

"Yeah, your house should be just up here a little way." Clarke said.

Gus's expression didn't change but there was a noticeable weight that gathered and pressed on his shoulders. "That's why I stayed behind too but I couldn't do shit about it." A bitter hate twisted in his tone as he continued forward. He really didn't want to talk about how he lost everyone he ever cared about because he was too weak to protect them.

When he reached the correct house he went right inside. This wasn't his home but it had clothes and he saw no reason to pause and ask permission to enter.

"Come on in. I'm going to change."

Clarke felt a little awkward just going into his house. She figured this might have been how Wanda felt when Clarke asked her to do the same. It was kind of funny to be on the other side of it now.

She hung out in the living area, allowing him time to change. The house looked a lot like her own, not that Clarke spent much time there. She was sure he was going to be more comfortable in his own clothes, she knew she felt that way when it was her. Then they could wander around. She'd take him to the market, like Wanda had done for her.

She relaxed a bit, just waiting for him to change and rejoin her.

Gus learned to dress quickly while in prison which didn't exactly afford you a lot of time. He pulled on a pair of paints, boots and then pulled a white undershirt on as he walked out from the bedroom. He didn't seem too bothered with Clarke there.

"Thanks for being my guide. Let me know if you need someone to watch your back." He preferred to pay people back. He didn't like owing people shit.

[personal profile] commanderofdeath 2017-07-03 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, I will." Clarke said. She knew that feeling too. She'd watch his back if she could, and he could watch hers. Probably the more allies she had here, the better. And it was probably the same for him.

"And it's not a problem, I was new not that long ago." She was sure she'd been a real pain in the ass to Wanda but the girl had never complained. She appreciated that a lot.

Gus nodded his head before glancing out the door. "I'm going to look around. See if I can find some work." He wasn't interested in just giving up and he needed to eat. He was used to working on the side as pure manual labor.

That and he needed a drink and he wasn't going to be able to afford one without money.

"You good or you need someone to walk you home?" He was sincere. Gus wasn't from a safe place and he really didn't trust fuck-island to be safe for anyone.

"I'm good." Clarke said. She was tougher than she looked. Most people just saw a small girl who probably wasn't much of a fighter, but they were very wrong. Of course they didn't know what kind of world it was that she came from either.

"See you around." She told him. She needed to look for work herself, and still needed to check the hospital. But she'd done a good deed in helping out Gus and now he was on his own.

"If you need me or anything, send me a message." She offered with a small smile before leaving him.

Gus gave her a quick nod. "Sure thing." He owed her one and he always repaid his debts. Even the ones that he didn't want to repay. It was just the kind of guy he was.

With that as their goodbye he turned and headed off in the direction of the market and the main square.
