Inara Serra | Firefly
The strange device thing, the collar and waking up naked in a strange place should have disturbed her more than it did... But she'd already been through something like this once and so she'd sighed, got up and pulled on the strange garments that had been left for her.
She still wished that she could have blamed all of this one Mal, though, at that moment, it truly didn’t matter. None of it did. What mattered was finding out what was going on and why she was back. She gathered the things that had been left for her and headed out of the temple, her eyebrows furrowing as she looked around.
She paused in the middle of the street, her fingers stroking the pendant around her neck as she looked first one way and then the other. This didn't look like Atia. There weren't any of the buildings she remembered from the last time she had been here.
Inara finally shook her head and pressing her lips together, she rolled her shoulders back and with more confidence than she was feeling at the moment, turned and headed straight to where she thought Serenity had last been. The more she walked though, the more she was thinking she wasn't on Atia, but somewhere else entirely.
Exhaling slowly, she stopped and looked around again and seeing someone walking towards her, she was quick to head in their direction. "Excuse me! Could you please tell me where we are exactly...."
Toga Party
Well, this was different than what she'd grown use to in Atia. The house she'd found herself in had been severely lacking but this party? It, well, it was certainly something. Thankfully, Inara had always been able to socialize no matter where she was and not to brag, but she pretty much looked good in no matter what she was wearing and the red toga she was wearing was no exception.
She smiled as she moved through the crowd, stopping now and again to speak to someone. She didn't stay and talk too long though and so far no one she'd talked to knew anything. Not surprising, at all.
Finally, she stopped as she was passing one of the many bars and decided that a drink was very much needed. She stepped up to the counter and flashed the person beside her a smile as she waited for the bartender. "At least they aren't making us pay for any of this. That's something at least."

He had tried to think of a reason to speak to her, something he could say, but unable to think of anything beyond his wish to escape this place. So Caspian had kept his distance, allowing her to enjoy the party.
It was only when she was beside him, making small talk that he had to laugh at his earlier nerves. "That would be rather rude. They bring us here and expect us to pay for our meals."

Inara kept smiling at the young man. He was attractive and held a regal bearing to him. He seemed pleasant so far and considering what was going on, that was admirable. She was actually surprised that not too many people were openly complaining. Perhaps they were still in shock after waking up naked though, that seemed to do it for some people.
"I'm Inara," she offered after a moment and extended her hand out to him. Even though she was annoyed at being on another island, she wasn't about to lose her politeness.

Shock had passed for him. Instead, he was observing and seeking answers, watching and waiting for the appropriate time to act...however that might be. He needed a plan before he could attempt escape and a way to remove the collars. For now, he had to be patient.
"I'm Caspian." He left off his title for now, uncertain who might be among their ranks. "I cannot speak for the food, but I believe the wine is of excellent vintage."
no subject
"I'm hoping I'm wrong but there are entirely too many things to truly think otherwise."
She glanced over towards one of the tables of food and then back to him. "Well, Caspian, despite the circumstances, it is lovely to meet you. Have you tried the white wine? It's very good."
no subject
"You at least have an idea, which is valuable, my lady. I have been searching for answers but found none until now. Whatever this place might be, at least I will have some idea now of what to expect."
He smiled at her warmly, "As it is to meet you. I haven't, but I should like to. Will you join me, Inara?"

She studied him for a moment. He looked so young, though in the islands before that could be very misleading. But he seemed nice enough and seemed to have a strong about him. Perhaps he would survive whatever these islands held for them.
Smiling, she finally gave a small dip of her head. "I should very much like that, thank you." She glanced around and then motioned to a free spot not far from where they were. "Shall we?"
togaaaaa hhhh oh no his voice is so stale
Jacob was still trying to come around to the idea that this was reality and not a trick of his mind while he toiled in some hospital bed somewhere as a direct byproduct of his own heroism. The toga was disappointingly big on his lean build, but the sandals fit fine. He didn't spend very much time enjoying things like this, the closest he had ever come was his radio station, and even that was solitary in nature.
"You look a lot better than I do in the required attire."
Re: togaaaaa hhhh oh no his voice is so stale
She studied him for a moment. "You don't seem as upset as some of the others."
