Test Drive #1

ARRIVAL: Your character wakes up in a temple completely naked except for the collar around their neck. Near the spot they wake up is a pile of clothing that is NOT what your character was wearing before they woke up. When they unfold the clothing they will find it's a toga and that there's a pair of sandals under it. Too bad, that's all there is. Perhaps your character is curious and leaves the temple or maybe they activate their device (accidentally or on purpose).

TOGA PARTY: Eros thinks that a party is what's needed to welcome everyone! This event is held on the beach in the Second District and everyone is welcome! Just be sure to wear your toga (HAHA)! There are large silk tents that are filled with pillows for characters to lounge on. There's food (think Greek) and lots to drink! Eros wants everyone to have fun and get to know each other! So eat, drink and mingle!!

NETWORK:Everyone is provided with a communication device that gives them access to an island-wide network. These can be used for so many things! Send pictures of the drunk guy at the bar, your boobs or whatever you want!!

WILDCARD: There are forests, mountains, marketplaces, all sorts of places to go and explore on the island. Ideas for settings can be found on the locations pages!

**TDM threads can be used as your sample in your application! It can also be considered in game canon if it is agreed on by all characters involved in said threads.

Arrival
The strange device thing, the collar and waking up naked in a strange place should have disturbed her more than it did... But she'd already been through something like this once and so she'd sighed, got up and pulled on the strange garments that had been left for her.

She still wished that she could have blamed all of this one Mal, though, at that moment, it truly didn’t matter. None of it did. What mattered was finding out what was going on and why she was back. She gathered the things that had been left for her and headed out of the temple, her eyebrows furrowing as she looked around.

She paused in the middle of the street, her fingers stroking the pendant around her neck as she looked first one way and then the other. This didn't look like Atia. There weren't any of the buildings she remembered from the last time she had been here.

Inara finally shook her head and pressing her lips together, she rolled her shoulders back and with more confidence than she was feeling at the moment, turned and headed straight to where she thought Serenity had last been. The more she walked though, the more she was thinking she wasn't on Atia, but somewhere else entirely.

Exhaling slowly, she stopped and looked around again and seeing someone walking towards her, she was quick to head in their direction. "Excuse me! Could you please tell me where we are exactly...."

Toga Party
Well, this was different than what she'd grown use to in Atia. The house she'd found herself in had been severely lacking but this party? It, well, it was certainly something. Thankfully, Inara had always been able to socialize no matter where she was and not to brag, but she pretty much looked good in no matter what she was wearing and the red toga she was wearing was no exception.

She smiled as she moved through the crowd, stopping now and again to speak to someone. She didn't stay and talk too long though and so far no one she'd talked to knew anything. Not surprising, at all.

Finally, she stopped as she was passing one of the many bars and decided that a drink was very much needed. She stepped up to the counter and flashed the person beside her a smile as she waited for the bartender. "At least they aren't making us pay for any of this. That's something at least."

It was hard not to notice her. She had a rare beauty that reminded him of the Telamarines, but far nice with a natural sweetness in her eyes. Despite knowing better, he had watched her as she moved about the crowd, kindly speaking to others, able to give an air of confidence and strength. It was as though she belonged here, even though she wore a collar as he did.

He had tried to think of a reason to speak to her, something he could say, but unable to think of anything beyond his wish to escape this place. So Caspian had kept his distance, allowing her to enjoy the party.

It was only when she was beside him, making small talk that he had to laugh at his earlier nerves. "That would be rather rude. They bring us here and expect us to pay for our meals."

"Oh, you'd be surprised at what they might expect us to do." She was under no illusions as to what they'd been brought to this new island. Perhaps she was being pessimistic, but after having been on Atia for as long as she had and having lived through all the curses and gǒushí, no she wasn't thinking overly positive at this point.

Inara kept smiling at the young man. He was attractive and held a regal bearing to him. He seemed pleasant so far and considering what was going on, that was admirable. She was actually surprised that not too many people were openly complaining. Perhaps they were still in shock after waking up naked though, that seemed to do it for some people.

"I'm Inara," she offered after a moment and extended her hand out to him. Even though she was annoyed at being on another island, she wasn't about to lose her politeness.

"You are familiar with those that brought us here?" It was better than having little clue as he did. Even if it was a guess, she spoke with the same confidence that carried her through the room. She seemed as though she knew the truth, which was a great deal more comforting than not.

Shock had passed for him. Instead, he was observing and seeking answers, watching and waiting for the appropriate time to act...however that might be. He needed a plan before he could attempt escape and a way to remove the collars. For now, he had to be patient.

"I'm Caspian." He left off his title for now, uncertain who might be among their ranks. "I cannot speak for the food, but I believe the wine is of excellent vintage."

"In a way, I suppose. I wasn't one this island, but one that seemed very similar." She shrugged her shoulders and then offered him a slight smile. "The waking up in a place I wasn't before, the collars, not knowing what's going on... It's almost exactly what I went through before. But, this place seems a little... Different." The togas, the lack of anyone knowing what was going on, no palace.

"I'm hoping I'm wrong but there are entirely too many things to truly think otherwise."

She glanced over towards one of the tables of food and then back to him. "Well, Caspian, despite the circumstances, it is lovely to meet you. Have you tried the white wine? It's very good."

"The collars?" He shifted, causing the cold metal to brush against his skin. "Do you know why they put these on us?" Were they slaves, as he suspected? Soon to be sold off to the highest bidder? It was the only explanation in his mind. "Different how? Not dangerous?" Not more than he had seen before, at least.

"You at least have an idea, which is valuable, my lady. I have been searching for answers but found none until now. Whatever this place might be, at least I will have some idea now of what to expect."

He smiled at her warmly, "As it is to meet you. I haven't, but I should like to. Will you join me, Inara?"

"I can't rightly say why they're on us here. But in the island I was on before, it was to get us to be... Ah, very intimate with one another. Perhaps its purpose is completely different here, though I doubt it." Bit truly she was hoping it wasn't for the purpose.

She studied him for a moment. He looked so young, though in the islands before that could be very misleading. But he seemed nice enough and seemed to have a strong about him. Perhaps he would survive whatever these islands held for them.

Smiling, she finally gave a small dip of her head. "I should very much like that, thank you." She glanced around and then motioned to a free spot not far from where they were. "Shall we?"

"Who are you trying to convince? Me or yourself?"

Jacob was still trying to come around to the idea that this was reality and not a trick of his mind while he toiled in some hospital bed somewhere as a direct byproduct of his own heroism. The toga was disappointingly big on his lean build, but the sandals fit fine. He didn't spend very much time enjoying things like this, the closest he had ever come was his radio station, and even that was solitary in nature.

"You look a lot better than I do in the required attire."

"Perhaps a bit of both." Inara shrugged her shoulders but trying to convince herself was the only thing keeping her from losing her mind. She wasn't supposed be to be here. She was supposed to be on Sihnon, teaching, enjoying what she could of her life. She'd already lived through this, it wasn't right that she'd been dragged back.

She studied him for a moment. "You don't seem as upset as some of the others."

"Facing down your own death will lead to a certain amount of acceptance." That, and as a scientist curiosity got the better of him. He wanted to know what made this place tick, and how it managed to function outside of the realm of possibility. The indifference to knowing he's dead could be jarring for some, but since he'd accepted it prior it's not an issue for him, just a reality, or a likely one. He doesn't exactly remember dying.
