So eat, drink and mingle!!

**TDM threads can be used as your sample in your application! It can also be considered in game canon if it is agreed on by all characters involved in said threads.

TOGA, TOGA
The party was weird, even for her. Most people would get that bubble of excitement in the pit of their stomach at the thought of trying something different, but Emma liked the known. So much of her life was unknown that she was to the point that if she could control it, she would.
She gathered her toga in one hand, and drink in the other. She could be thankful that the silver sandals that covered her feet were not heels, that would be a disaster in the making. Flat shoes, however, did not stop her from bumping into someone.
"I'm so sorry... I didn't spill on you did I?" She asked, finally looking up, her mouth falling open.
no subject
"No harm done," he assured her, tugging on the toga. Okay, so there was a spill, but it wasn't like he had to foot the dry-cleaning bill. His expression softened a bit as he added, "Always good to bump into you, Emma."
no subject
"Sorry, it's been a long few months. Let me get you something and we can talk? Unless you're busy?"
no subject
"I'm usually the one offering you the drink," he noted with a little smile. "And you know I'm never busy."
no subject
She had been dreading going through this again, but since seeing August, her body language is more relaxed and normal than it has in awhile.
"True, but you didn't spill a drink on me," She added with a grin, looping her arm through his and walking in the direction of the bar. "You look great, you've been okay?" She asked, looking at him again. She was so worried about him, and missed him desperately.
no subject
"Oh, you know me," he said with a casual shrug. "I lay low. I'm a little mad they took my necklace, though. This thing isn't a great substitute." He ran his finger along the collar with a frown.
no subject
"Sorry, if you pull it tightens faster and it's not fun when it chokes you." Emma finished softly.
"You want to sit and I can try and explain?"
no subject
"So you already know what's going on," he observed. "Kind of."
no subject
"Yes and no," She said, as she gentled ran a finger along her own collar, which was a new addition. I was in a place, an island before here, where you had to...." She looked down at her hands now clasped on her lap. "Have sex every 14 days or you died, or maybe it was 10 I don't know. The details are fuzzy. but that place was run by a Goddess, and this apparently by a God." She laughed a bit.
"You probably think I'm crazy, I know I would if our positions were reversed, but you know that I don't lie, especially to you right?"
no subject
"I don't think you're crazy," August assured her. He believed every word, of course. And in theory he didn't mind the idea of having sex every week or so. It was the idea of Emma forced into it that gave him the uneasy feeling.
"How long were you in that other place?" he asked. Hopefully the question came out casual.
no subject
"I made choices, yes, but they were mine to make, if that makes sense," She added, reaching out and touching his arm. In a way she needed the contact to assure herself that he wasn't a figment of her imagination.
She raised an eyebrow at him, because she knew him well enough to know that what was probably going through his head. "A year and a half. Still, think I'm not a horrible person?"
no subject
"Emma." A smile touched his lips and he gave her hand a squeeze. "I'm hardly in a place to judge anybody's choices. Still," he added a bit more gravely, "you're stuck in another place just like that one. It doesn't seem right."
no subject
"Everyone makes choices, good, bad and everything in between. It's what you do after that counts," She stated softly but firmly.
Emma shrugged her shoulders some. "I went back home, and you got shot by some psycho bitch, left me again, and Neal died in my arms. This is better don't you think?"
no subject
"Yeah," he agreed. "This is better."
no subject
"I'm sorry," She whispered. "I'm sorry I couldn't stop her before she hurt you, and I'm sorry it took me so long to believe. It is my biggest regret you know?"
no subject
"None of that was your fault, Emma. I was the one responsible."
no subject
"You were there when it counted, though, you know you were, but I can't say the same."
no subject
"Want a drink?" he asked. He was going to his usual habit of running away from the issue. "It can be alcohol this time."
